Another Haunt #2 (Updated 3/27/15)

Here is my second of four Witch Haunt displays. Still working on this one, but will post updates later. The backdrop is designed to look like a primitive kitchen with an open hearth where cauldrons were hung from a large beam over an open fire.

The back side was intended to look like wood, but i went with a cinder block look instead. It may look like the butcher block table and the backdrop is carved out of one piece, but it is actually two half rounds glued together.

My spell book is also made of styro. Again here i designed and printed out my pages and burnt the edges with my Hot Wire Sculpting Knife. The chant and the last line of the spell is from Macbeth by William Shakespear.

Creepy Creek Farm

This display is an extension to my Down On The Farm mantle display. I wanted to experiment with my puzzle platform design by making puzzle shaped platforms that are placed together to form a large rolling landscape. I began designing my display around my House In The Woods platform that you see here in the middle of this display.

"Halloween Town Pumpkin Statue"

I had intended to do a cute display based on a Disney movie called Halloween Town. It stars Debbie Reynolds, then child stars Kimberly J. Brown and Joey Zimmerman. One thing i wanted to recreate was the pumpkin statue that is in the town square at Halloween Town.

"Moon Over My-Village"

This is a must have for any village display. If you have not seen this before you will be amazed on how realistic this moon is. Moon In My Room is made by Uncle Milton at http://www.unclemilton.com. It's meant for a child's educational toy, but who would have known that it could be used for other things like a village display.

It is about twelve inches in diameter that comes with a remote with several settings including on/off, manual moon phase or auto moon phase. It will also shut off after one half hour of inactivity. Several stores including Walmart sell them for $20.00.

"The Fundamentals Of Dry Brushing"

Why base coat? Base coating is the essential part of your project especially when using the dry brush technique on your styrofoam and wood products. Most acrylic paints are opaque especially the Ceramcoat products. Even though the FolkArt paints have a more denser consistency they will still take on the hue of the base coat.
